About
Mirai is a piece of malware (first seen in 2016) that infects internet-connected devices (IoT)—like cameras and routers—and turns them into a botnet (a network of remotely controlled machines). Its main purpose was to launch massive DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks.
